The company manufacture the most widely used, dedicated communication device for lone workers. Named Identicom, and shaped like an ID badge, it allows a lone worker 24/7, on demand, alarm monitoring support, via a wearable device that is discreet to operate. Identicom is now use by in excess of 160,000 lone workers across all industries.

Hough, who has significant B2B experience in senior, strategic management roles, joins SoloProtect from RAC Motoring Services. He previously delivered robust and critical support services to key, corporate accounts to enable successful on-boarding, on time client implementation, compliance, and revenue maximisation. Stephen's role at SoloProtect will enable him to be directly involved across a number of projects designed to deliver experiences, services and systems to SoloProtect customers that are smarter, slicker and increasingly integrated.

In 2015, the company opened a purpose-built Alarm Receiving Centre (ARC) at a new, UK head office in Sheffield. The first lone worker dedicated ARC in the UK to be accredited to EN50518, the European standard for Alarm Receiving Centres, the facility is now monitoring all SoloProtect customer accounts.

Craig Swallow, managing director of SoloProtect UK, commented: "We're delighted to welcome Stephen to SoloProtect. 2015 was a massive year for the business with the introduction of a new, Alarm Receiving Centre. So far 2016 is proving no different in terms of the number of key projects going on, Stephen's remit will be key to delivering a raft of new advantages to our customer base."

Hough said: "I'm excited to be joining an innovative and growing business such as SoloProtect, particularly due to the service provided to customers who are in potentially vulnerable or dangerous situations. This has been an important personal feature in my roles over the last 18 years and I am delighted to be leading the delivery of the operational service and further initiatives, for the benefit of our customers."
