IOSH Magazine Nov/Dec 2020

IOSH NovDec20 Full.jpg
Issue date: November 2020

James QuinnThis edition of IOSH magazine is dedicated to IOSH's Future Leaders Community, and I am delighted to be able to write this introduction for what is the first edition since I became president of IOSH.

My personal career journey has taken me from more than two decades in the armed forces into OSH. Changing career was a daunting prospect but, thanks to the support I received, I navigated my way through it and I have no doubts that it was absolutely the right decision.

Whether you have come into the profession via the armed forces or another career, or you are at the start of your working life, the importance of accessing support on both a professional and personal level cannot be overstated.

This issue highlights success stories and showcases how IOSH is helping to develop the OSH leaders of the future who will provide real value to businesses and – above all – ensure that working people are safe and healthy.

Through our Future Leaders Community, IOSH is seeking to provide professionals early in their career with the chance to develop, realise their ambitions and grow into the OSH leaders of the future.

But we are just at the start of this journey, as the Future Leaders are just at the start of theirs. I received fantastic encouragement when I started my OSH career, and I am very passionate and determined that others benefit from this too.
