Developed by the Global Sustainability Standards Board -- an independent standard-setting body -- the GRI Standards are based on years of expert input from a diverse group of stakeholders.
They represent global best practice for reporting on economic, environmental and social impacts, improving the quality and comparability of this information.
As a GRI stakeholder council member, IOSH is encouraging its members to get involved with the GRI Standards, and there are a number of ways to do so:
- Take part in an introductory webinar on 26 October
- Attend one of a number of free launch events taking place around the world
- Read short publications on the GRI Standards -- a two-page and a four-page introduction are available
- Use the Twitter handle #GRIStandards for discussing on social media
- Visit www.globalreporting.org to download the Standards for free, and to get more information, support and services
The G4 Sustainability Reporting Guidelines (G4 Guidelines) have been superseded by the GRI Sustainability Reporting Standards (GRI Standards). The GRI Standards will be required for all reports or other materials published on or after 1 July 2018 -- the G4 Guidelines remain available until this date.
