A pool of Chartered members based in the Middle East have been trained to conduct interviews, with the first being carried out in Dubai, UAE, on Tuesday 20 February.
Until now, IOSH members who are not based in the UK have had to either travel there for interviews or take part in them using video technology.
Brenton Phillips, Relationship Manager for International Networks at IOSH, said the first round of interviews had been an "outstanding success".
He said: "For some time now we have been looking at how we could improve the process for our non-UK members to complete their peer review interviews.
"Through negotiations with our Middle East branches, committees and networks, we have been able to select, carry out good standing checks, and train a pool of suitably qualified CMIOSH members from the region to deliver this important process, initially in the Middle East.
"We have also been able to secure suitable venues across the region in Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Qatar and Oman to conduct these interviews at no cost to IOSH.
"This has been achieved by utilising, and engaging with our Middle East member network and by tapping into the expertise our members who are based in the region, as well as working collaboratively with Matt Ottaway from our membership department."
Brenton added: "A big thank you to the panel of volunteers -- Bipin Gautam from the Oman branch, and Emmanuel Etuk and Matt Jackson from the UAE branch -- who delivered this inaugural face-to-face interview process."
