IOSH 2017 will take place on November 20-21 at the International Convention Centre (ICC), in Birmingham, said the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH).
The yearly event has become the preeminent UK-based conference for leaders in occupational safety and health, attracting delegates from around the world for two days of cutting-edge debate on the OSH issues of the day.
IOSH 2017 promises to be another unmissable event for safety and health strategists with next year expected to be a momentous 12 months for the profession.
IOSH executive director of membership James Thorne said: “We have listened to our members and we want to take our annual conference forward, consolidating its position as the market-leader for safety and health managers.
“Next year will see important developments in how the safety, health and wellbeing of people are managed at work. A new international standard is set to be published and IOSH’s competency framework will be established as a model for a growing number of organisations. Health and wellbeing and the role of C-suite in OSH decision-making will be in sharp focus.
“IOSH 2017 will be the conference for decision-makers to share learning and address such issues together.”
The Chartered body’s flagship event was organised this year and previously with United Business Media (UBM) and co-located with the company’s Safety and Health Expo, at ExCel London.
IOSH has ended its contract with UBM for the annual conference but confirmed this week that it will exhibit at Expo next year, and run its popular on-stand theatre.
James added: “We would like to thank the team at UBM for their support with our annual conference and we look forward to working with them in the future on Safety and Health Expo.”
