Guidance to support organisations in the travel and tourism sector in implementing health and hygiene protocols have been published by IOSH and the World Travel and Tourism Council (WTTC).
Rebuilding public confidence has emerged as one of the biggest priorities for WTTC and the wider sector.
The new guidelines follow health and safety protocols released by WTTC last year in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
They provide consistency on destinations and countries, as well as advice to travellers about the approach to health and hygiene post-COVID.
The partnership between IOSH and WTTC, establishedafter the two organisations signed a memorandum of collaboration in 2020, aims to support the travel and tourism sector in its recovery from the pandemic.
Gloria Guevara, WTTC president and CEO, said: ‘Whilst the travel and tourism sector suffered enormously [as a result of the pandemic]history has shown it to be a resilient sector and we are confident that during the next few months we will begin to see that strong recovery take hold.
‘We believe that these guidelines will help aid in that process and become part of organisational DNA.’
