We’re looking to add IOSH member experience and expertise to the articles for the next issue (May/June) and we'd like you to come forward if you think you’ve got something to say.
Mental health first aid
One volunteer we’d like to speak to would contribute to the News Analysis feature on Mental Health First Aid (MHFA). If you have tried to implement MHFA in your workplace, what barriers did you face and how have you resolved them?
Dust/fume extraction
We need an IOSH member who has personal experience of the issues surrounding dust/fume extraction, especially OSH professionals who work in the construction industry – SMEs and larger corporates – or who have been involved in any research involving dust/fume extraction.
Brexit
We are also looking to hear from a volunteer who understands how Brexit is affecting health and safety in the UK – particularly focusing on what employers can do now to support their staff and mitigate any negative effects.
Smart PPE
With the increasing public awareness of PPE that has come with the COVID-19 pandemic, we want to look at the technological advances being made with ‘smart PPE’. Are you responsible for PPE, have you been interested in ‘smart’ solutions and what considerations need to be made for its roll out? Let us know!
Vaccination policies
Finally – again inspired by the pandemic – workplace COVID vaccinations will be a reality in 2021. We’d love to hear from you if you have already introduced a policy on this for your workplace.
Can you help?
It would only take a 15- to 20-minute phone conversation and you would be adding invaluable depth and insight, and helping to shape the magazine’s content direction.
Please email the magazine’s editor, Emma Godfrey, with your IOSH membership number: [email protected] for further information.
