Our recent article, Covid Testing Strategies for the workplace, was one of our most popular. But, once you’ve decided on your strategy, how do you put it into action? Here’s a snapshot of what you need to know and what you need to do in advance of each of the 4 approaches to corporate testing.
1. One off Back-to-Work testing
Return to work testing can be planned in advance to secure lab capacity and so that individual testing kits can be delivered to staff at home ready for use. Tests start at around £37and provide highly accurate results even on asymptomatic and pre-symptomatic cases, without the hidden clinician overheads of Lateral Flow Tests (Rapid tests).
For businesses using this strategy it’s important to factor in that there will be periods where the demand on lab capacity for processing samples will be high, as many industries open at the same time. To avoid a delay in opening, get your testing plans in place with your wholesale testing provider so that you’re front of the queue and ready to go as soon as opening dates are confirmed.
2. Outbreak Management – Flexible Testing
Covid Testing Network recently launched a ‘Flexible Testing’ package designed for outbreak management. The plan provides 50 or 100 individual testing kits that are delivered in advance, to the place of work(s), that are ready for handing out to those in a work bubble to give a highly accurate result even in the case of asymptomatic carriers. Businesses pay a small upfront cost with the remaining cost due only if and when the swabs are used an tests processed by the lab. Order the kits in advance.
3. Regular, Bespoke plans
Bespoke PCR testing plans have been widely used throughout the pandemic by industries that have remained operational such as large-scale engineering, and film & TV production. They’ve proved extremely effective at keeping operations running and controlling the spread of Covid. Using a specialist Corporate Testing provider with an established track record, like Covid Testing Network, will ensure that you get a well-designed plan that takes advantage of economies of scale delivering quality at a very competitive price per test.
4. Corporate Travel - Day 2 and Day 8 Testing
Day 2 and day 8 testing is now required for all those travelling into the UK. The tests go beyond the standard PCR test, including ‘genomic sequencing’ to check for new variants of Covid-19. For a full update on these tests and how to deliver them in a corporate travel environment, Covid Testing Network are providing a half-hour update online for those involved in Corporate Travel provision:
