Having seen the shocking impact of PPE on healthcare workers faces during the pandemic, Tecman Advanced Healthcare Products developed a new generation of British made face and eye protection that puts workers safety and comfort as priority. Their brand-new line includes the highest CE certification category III PPE level disposable face shield which has been developed to address the comfort needs of the wearer, as well as their innovative visor designed to be worn with baseball caps.

Comfort is key

In order to create the best possible protective products, the team at Tecman consulted healthcare workers on their comfort needs and concerns. The resulting feedback has been incorporated throughout every stage of the design process. These ambitious plans support Tecman’s long-term vision to become a global leader in the development and manufacture of British made face and eye protection.

The Leamington-based manufacturer has already opened a new site that is dedicated to the production of face and eye protection such as protective face shields, which have been specified by the NHS and used by healthcare workers.

This latest investment includes a brand new, dedicated production line, enabling the business to produce over 1 million CE marked, disposable shields each week.

Quality and safety

Tecman’s new, high quality range of PPE complies with stringent British standards, and is CE marked BS EN166:2002. The manufacturing process incorporates both optical grade films and medical grade materials.

Tecman’s Technical Director, Kevin Porter, commented: “Developing and manufacturing effective products to support frontline workers has already enabled us to protect tens of thousands of NHS staff and key workers whilst providing a product that is comfortable to wear all day.”
